Web Designer

About the Role

Sparkview Pty Ltd is seeking a creative and technically skilled Web Designer to design, develop, and maintain responsive, user-focused websites and digital interfaces. This role is responsible for delivering end-to-end web design solutions, from UX research and information architecture through to front-end development, accessibility compliance, and performance optimisation.

You will work closely with stakeholders, developers, and clients to translate business objectives into high-performing digital experiences that are visually engaging, technically robust, and aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with stakeholders to define website objectives, functional requirements, and user experience goals
• Analyse user needs, behaviours, and business processes to develop effective design strategies
• Design responsive layouts, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI mock-ups
• Develop and implement front-end solutions using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks
• Create and maintain structured design systems, UI component libraries, and style guides
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile-first responsiveness
• Apply WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and usability best practices
• Integrate websites with CMS platforms including WordPress, WooCommerce, and Shopify
• Conduct usability testing and implement iterative design improvements
• Optimise websites for SEO performance, site speed, and Core Web Vitals
• Collaborate with developers to ensure technical feasibility and accurate implementation
• Maintain and update existing websites to ensure functionality, security, and performance
• Document technical specifications, design guidelines, and system requirements
• Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards
• Provide expert technical guidance and act as a central reference point for web design initiatives

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Web Design, Digital Media, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2–3 years of relevant professional experience as a Web Designer
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, user journey mapping, and information architecture
• Proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD)
• Solid front-end development skills in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
• Experience working with CMS platforms such as WordPress and eCommerce integrations
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and website performance optimisation
• Understanding of accessibility standards and WCAG compliance
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines

Remuneration

Salary: 80-90k per annum plus superannuation (commensurate with experience).
